THE STORY
The rooftop of Pier 17 at South Street Seaport is a hot and steamy place in August. That’s where Facebook was holding it’s annual summer party, and where we were engaged to activate our photo experience.
Our shelter was a 20x20 tent with 9.5 foot overhead clearance. Within that space we housed our photo activation - a green screen backdrop, lights and our editors. We arranged a line of sun-umbrellas on stands immediately outside of the tent so that folks waiting for their session would find some relief from the sun.
The theme was the ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party,’ and we used that inspiration to create our vivid backgrounds.
THE EVENT
Our video output was integrated into the venue’s display system, so that our videos were displayed on two large day-light rated LCDs hanging over the main stage above the dance floor. In that way people were able to view videos and engage from almost any position at the party.
Hundreds of images were shared and printed from our sharing kiosk, exponentially increasing the reach of the party.
