Photographing Brooklyn neighborhoods hard hit by Hurricane Sandy - it's heart breaking.  One thing that strikes us is that after you strip away all the "things" that we amass in life, we are all the same...  we all have the same needs - food, shelter, warmth, love.

"I see several positives in the 'new normal' that we're facing. People are closer to family and loved ones than ever before. People are becoming better cooks. They’re causing less harm to the planet. We were caught in a vulnerable situation in this pandemic in part because a lot of the early-warning infrastructure and expertise had been gutted by our government. O "No matter how bad a situation might seem, there is always a positive aspect to be found. What we are going through globally at the moment makes us realize how much we took for granted, and just how far we've strayed from the essence of our true "What's bringing me hope these days are children.⁠ Children in my neighborhood have been making chalk drawings with positive messages all along the sidewalk.
